Training and Development workshops Training and Development Workshops
The success of the TYD Foundation programs is due in part to the training and inspiration of our staff. We offer training workshops for our programs so that your staff can implement these wonderful programs into your school curriculum or organization projects.

Since 2002, TYD Foundation has been structuring training and development workshops. We've been selected over and over again by well established organizations like Fort Worth After School to share our expertise at their trainings with over 500 staff members in attendance. Teachers and after school staff who attended these trainings gave TYD facilitators high marks on their evaluations to the degree of relevance, organization, and knowledge about the topics. Onsite trainings can be scheduled for 45 to 90 minutes, or up to four hours with group rotations in sizes ranging from 5 to 30 staff members at a time.

We're often asked to do trainings that address certain topics like:
How do you tie arts and academics together?
What fun learning activities can be done inside when the weather is bad?
What productive things can my staff do with downtime?
How can my staff create learning-friendly environments?

After introducing myself to the new fifth grade poetry class, I explained why our organization was named The Thank You Darlin’ Foundation. I told them that “Thank you darlin’”is an expression of sincere gratitude that was used by my mother. People said the sincerity and warmth behind the words made them feel loved and valued. I wanted to carry on her legacy.

“Do you think you have value?” I asked them. Some responded no.
“Do you value education?” Some responded no.
“Do you think learning to read and write will increase your value or self-worth?” Some responded no.

I explained further, value is something that is desired and considered worthwhile like being smart, on time, prepared, strong, a good worker, a good listener, and a team player, honest, helpful, kind, responsible and respectful. Continuing, I said that before learning how to talk, you probably pointed to something and cried hoping someone would give it to you. With an excellent education, you increase your opportunities of getting whatever you want for yourself.

“Now tomorrow”, I said, “we will learn literary terms and poetic techniques.”

They all responded, “Yes, ma’am”.
