Thinking, crying
Last night
About my past
Walking outside
Don’t see anything
No birds singing
No clouds, no sun
Just rain coming down
Turning my face into a frown
Don’t have no friends
They went to jail
My Daddy said that’s where I would end up
Raising hell
So I couldn’t do nothing
But go into the house and watch TV
Sooner or later
All bad things start happening to me
So I went to church
Struggling to find my way
I hear God say
I will take you out the darkness
And put you into the light
Still every night I cry myself to sleep
Until God wraps his arms around me

'Writing on the shoulders of authors'– Imitation writing, known as writing on the shoulders of authors by some educators, is a technique The Thank You Darlin’ Foundation applies to help students become better writers. Dr. Maya Angelou’s poem titled 'Alone' was a source of great inspiration for our students.
Six Flags
Screaming, yelling
Saturday night
I was having the greatest time allowed
Where cold air was untouchable
Fun was 180 feet up
Fear was in my eyes
I was frozen in my spirit
Fun and fear
Fear and fun
All wrapped up in one
When I was on the ride
I heard my heart screaming
My sister raised her hands
I began to yell
And I had a great time
Fun and fear
Fear and fun
All wrapped up in one
